Pasco County Court Information

The judicial functions and duties of the Pasco County Court are the responsibility of the Pasco County Clerk of Court. It is a general jurisdiction court of the county and hears different types of cases including civil, criminal, probate, juvenile, family matters and so on.

Pasco Court is divided into a number of sub-sections for better dissemination of judicial duties. The Civil Department operating under the court takes up civil cases where the amount in controversy is between $5,000 and $15,000. The civil cases under the jurisdiction of this court include foreclosure, breach of contract, product liability, auto negligence, miscellaneous writs, landlord/tenant eviction cases, and such others.

Pasco County Clerk of Court: Departments

The Pasco County Clerk of Court also handles small claims cases involving disputes up to $5,000. Along with these probate cases, guardianships and such cases are also heard at this court. Preliminary hearings of criminal misdemeanor cases are also conducted at the Pasco Court. The different sections working under the Pasco County Court are as follows:

Traffic Violations Bureau: This section deals with all civil and criminal traffic violations in the county. It is also responsible for the collection of fines, assistance in driver improvement programs, and arranging for court dates in case of contest of an infraction violation. Family Law Courts: These are responsible in matters with regard to familial bonds and the following categories are within their jurisdiction:
