Nevada City Public Records Information

As per the rules of the Nevada Open Records Act, chapter 239.030, all Nevada officers and state agencies holding public records, must furnish certified copies of these to all who request them and pay the requisite service charges. This law applies to all records that are not sealed or declared confidential by the court or whose disclosure will not threaten domestic security. You can also direct your queries regarding offender records to Offender Management at info@doc.nv.gov.

Megan’s Law dictates that all cities in Nevada must make public information on sex offenders registered and residing within their geographical boundaries. Information about sex offenders residing in the state of Nevada can be acquired at the state Department of Public Safety official website, http://www.nvsexoffenders.gov/Search.aspx. You can carry out person, address, and vehicle searches here.

Information about a person’s driving history, the status of his/her driving license, and whether or not s/he had ever been convicted of a drunk driving offense are often required by employers and these are stored at the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. You can obtain the records for a Nevada driver registered in any city by submitting your request at the department office situated in 555 Wright Way, Carson City, NV 89711-0725.
