Colorado County Public Records Information

The Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration maintains the state archives for the Colorado State. The State Archives is responsible for the management of the Colorado public records arising from the local governments in the state. The archive includes records from the regional depositories such as the school districts, municipalities, townships as well as the various counties and cities within the state of Colorado.

As per the Colorado State laws this archive acts as the depository for the Colorado public records as well as for the public records arising from the local governments. The records available at the archives include information on the legal, administrative, historical as well as other records which are of great value for research purpose.

 

Types of Records Available

 

The records available with the Department of Personnel and Administration in Colorado State include public records that have been transferred to the custody of the State Archives from the various official sources of the various counties as well as the public bodies from the state.

In addition it also has records such as offender records including sex offenders and felony fugitives and fugitives, business records, land records and the county real estate records.

Most records of deaths as well as the birth records are usually only recorded at the state level in Colorado with some exceptions. These include the records of death and births from the year 1948 to the present day which are available at the county level. Patented mining claims from the county level, marriage records, divorce records, land transfer records and other legal documents of the counties pertaining to the operation are usually recorded with the counties.
