Clark County Public Records Information

The Freedom of Information Act entitles every American to be informed. Thus, many of the records have been made accessible to the public. Public records are those documents in forms of paper, maps, magnetic tape, photographs or films that are created by different government agencies and are retained and maintained by some boards. They can be viewed, inspected and asked as transcripts. However, there is a limit to the release of information. Also, many of the public records Clark County are exempted from public access.

 

Clark County Arkansas Public Records

 

Ckark County public records include vital records, documents of professional license, unclaimed properties, information on inmates, criminal background and many more. Vital records are the certificate of four vital events of life- death, marriage, divorce and death. For certificates of each events, you need to undergo a procedure. Download and print the form, fill it up with information asked and send it at the record division along with the check.

 

Birth Records

 

For birth certificates, download the application form. You will obtain this form at http://www.healthyarkansas.com/certificates/pdf/vr-7_birth_certificate_application.pdf. The database of vital records holds birth records since 1914. Two kinds of birth records are issued- uncertified plastic wallet card copy and certified copy with a raised seal.

The non-refundable search fee for the records is $12 and $10 for each additional copy. These records are issued to immediate family members, people persuing some research or someone who can present proof of right to access the records. But, records that are older than 100 years can be requested by anyone.

 

Death Records

 

Application form for death certificates can be obtained from http://www.healthyarkansas.com/certificates/pdf/vr-8_death_certificate_application.pdf. You will be issued a certified copy of the record. Search fee of $10 is non-refundable. For each additional copy, you will be charged $8. After 50 years of death, certificate can be requested by anybody. Prior to that only the designated people like relatives, research groups or another rightful people can make the request.

 

Marriage and Divorce Records

 

Arkansas Vital Records have the records for the marriages and divorces that occurred since 1917 and 1923 respectively. Application form for marriage coupon can be obtained from http://www.healthyarkansas.com/certificates/pdf/vr-9_marriage_app.pdf. For divorce records, go to http://www.healthyarkansas.com/certificates/pdf/vr-10_divorce_app.pdf. When you request to vital records, you receive a certified copy of marriage and divorce which is a legal document. For original decree of divorce or license of marriage, you need to apply for it to the Clerk of the County Court in which marriage or divorce had been solemnized. Search fee for the records are $10.

You can also request for Express Service by calling up at (888) 803-1118 or (866) 209-9482. You will be charged non-refundable additional cost for FedEx.
