Structure of the Boone County Court

The Boone County Court was formed in accordance with the Kentucky Constitution in 1891. This court is known as the ‘Fiscal Court’ and acts as the local government of the Boone County. The executive body of the Boone County Court consists of the following four members:

·    Judge/Executive presently held by Gary W. Moore.
·    Commissioner of district 1 presently held by Cathy H. Flaig.
·    Commissioner of district 2 presently held by Charles E. Kenner DMD.
·    Commissioner of district 3 presently held by Terri Moore.

In the period before 1978 the Boone County Court had jurisdiction over all criminal and civil lawsuits. But, since 1978, some of its functions were transferred to the Kentucky Court systems. The present functions of the Boone County Court include:
